Having committed to the 30 day Blogging Challenge issued by Stuart Ross of the Six Figure Mentors, I now realize that I have to come up with a lot of new topics to blog about!

Suddenly my mind goes blank and I think what on earth am I going to write about?

I’m sure I’m not alone in this.

So today I thought I’d give you some suggestions on how to approach blogging, and here are:

My top tips for creative blogging

1. Become Results Orientated

In other words, when blogging think ‘Will people really be able to use the information I’m providing?’

If you can help people make positive changes in their lives, they will thank you for it. And repay you by becoming a regular visitor to your site.

2. Write conversationally when blogging.

Unless you are producing blogging content that is technical, write as if you are chatting to your readers. Be informal and make them feel like friends. Let them get to know the real you.

3. Think about the challenges and problems that your readers might be having.

And tell them about solutions. Even the smallest thing can be a major problem to someone who doesn’t know how to deal with it. ‘How To’ guides are really popular, particularly if you can show someone in a video exactly how to do something.

4. Lists and Guides To…

People love guides to the way to do things or lists that they can tick off as they go along.
Step by step blogging can really help your blog to fly!

5. Don’t spend hours researching content

unless you are blogging about a specific project or detailed guide. Just post regularly and keep your content easy to read.

6. Try not to be too wordy

People don’t have the time to read a book. If you have a lot to say on a topic, perhaps you could split it into more than one post.

7. Give your readers variety!

Use text, audio, video, images. Not all in the same post of course. Alternate to appeal to the different ways that people like to consume information.

For instance, I often prefer to read rather than watch video (although I think I might be in the minority here!) because I can scan written text to pick out anything I might find interesting.

8. Follow other interesting blogs and sites for ideas

You can do this by using RSS feeds or Google Reader. Remember if you use content from someone else’s blog, you should always link back to it and credit them as the author.

9. Keep notes on new things you learn or experiences you have

They can be very useful for blogging about

and finally

10. Don’t worry about being blogging perfect all the time

or you’ll never start. Just get your posts out there, but be professional ie good spelling and grammar.

Now to follow my own advice!

These are just some suggestions for successful blogging. I’m sure you’ll have plenty of others so please do share them below.
